Ex-DLO Kandhamal convicted in Odisha vigilance case

Nabarangpur: Today Ranjan Kishore Behera, Ex-DLO, Kandhamal, A/p-DLO, , was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in Berhampur Vigilance P.S Case No.30 dtd.06.11.2019 U/s 7 PC Amendment Act,2018.
He was under the Odisha Vigilance scanner for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.15,000/- from a complainant for recommending the names of beneficiaries to get the death assistance under Government scheme.
She was convicted by Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years and a fine of Rs. 5,000/- and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of three months more for the offence U/s 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for dismissal of Sri Ranjan Kishore Behera, DLO, Nabarangpur from service following his conviction. Detailed reports follows in this regard.
