Elephant carcass found in Odisha’s Dhenkanal dist

The carcass of an elephant has been found near a farmhouse in Borapada Khamar village under Sadar range in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.

Dhenkanal: The carcass of an elephant has been found in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district. The carcass was recovered from the premises of a farmhouse in Borapada Khamar village under Dhenkanal Sadar range.

The elephant is assumed to have died after being electrocuted.

The age of the deceased elephant is said to be 15 years.

On being informed, DFO and other forest officials reached the spot and started an investigation. The officials recovered the carcass of the jumbo and sent it for post-mortem.

During the investigation, it was found that a herd of elephants live near the farmhouse.
