Sundergarh: In yet another unfortunate incident, an elderly man was trampled to death by a jumbo near Patrapali village under Gopalpur Forest Range in Sundargarh district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Murali Sa of Chuparanga Patarapalli village near Gopalpur.
According to reports, Sa had gone to the nearby forest to collect Mahua fruits (Mahula). However, he was attacked by an elephant in the forest, which later crushed him to death.
Meanwhile, the Police and Forest officials reached the spot after being informed of the incident by locals. The body has been sent for autopsy.
