Bhubaneswar: Decomposed body of a 49-year-old woman was found today in an apartment in Old Town under Lingaraj police limits. Though the reason of her death is yet to be ascertained police suspected the woman of committing suicide.
The deceased has been identified as Manidipa Patnaik. Police said that the woman has been staying alone on the fourth floor of the apartment. “Her neighbours found foul smell emanating from the house and subsequently informed us. We found the door of the house locked from inside. The body has been sent for postmortem,” said a police official.
The father of the deceased said that the woman was staying separately from her husband due to marital discord. Police have started an investigation after registering a case of unnatural death.
