Cyclone Fani To Make Landfall Between 08 am & 10 am Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: According to latest reports, extremely severe cyclonic storm ‘Fani’ is likely to make landfall at the Odisha coast between 08 am and 10 am tomorrow.

Cyclone Fani is likely to hit Odisha coast between Gopalpur and Chandbali with a maximum sustained wind speed of 170-180 kmph gusting to 200 kmph, IMD said.

At present, the cyclone is centered in the west-central Bay of Bengal, about 360 km south-southwest of Puri.

The IMD also informed that squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is very likely to prevail along Odisha coast and become gale wind speed reaching 60-70 kmph gusting to 85 kmph from May 2 night.

Post-landfall, Cyclone Fani is likely to pass through Khordha, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore districts.

The India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in several coastal areas of the Odisha while giving a yellow warning to the state.
