Covid-19 Odisha: Fresh Guidelines Issued For Paddy Procurement

Bhubaneswar: The Rabi crop shall be collected from 17 districts of Odisha from the first week of May. The collection will be done following all the Covid guidelines.

The government of Odisha has issued fresh guidelines in this matter.  The use of masks shall be compulsory at the rice collection center, and social distancing shall be mandatory and shall be strictly observed.

In order to avoid crowds, the paddy will be procured from 30 to 35 farmers a day at one center. More rice collection centers will be opened. The District Collectors have been asked to make an immediate proposal in this regard.

Sanitizers will be provided to farmers and workers. The centers in which there is crowding, rice collection hall be stopped immediately.

Paddy will be procured every day from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. by afternoon, the rice mills will pick up rice.

The checks will be tightened in the border areas of Chhattisgarh to prevent rice from entering the neighboring state of Odisha.

At the collection centers, farmers will be called upon through public address systems. If someone has a fever or a cold, they will be sent to a health center.

The paddy will be procured in Balasore, Bargarh, Balangir, Boudh, Cuttack, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Khordha, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Nuapadha, Puri, Rayagada, Sambalpur and Sonepur districts.
