Bargarh: A couple was killed in a lightning strike at Bisipalli village under Padampur police limits in Odisha’s Bargarh district late on Saturday night.
The deceased have been identified as Kailash Bariha and his wife Kishori.
The duo were asleep inside their hut when lightning struck, killing them on the spot.
The thatched house also caught fire in the lightning strike. Later, neighbours doused the flames and recovered the bodies of the deceased couple.
In a similar incident, an eight-year-old boy was killed and five other children were critically injured after being struck by lightning at Subalaya village in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Saturday.
