Councillors From Port Blair Visit Bhubaneswar Operations Centre

Bhubaneswar:  A team of 15 councillors from Port Blair Municipal Council (PBMC) led by their Chairperson Anusia Devi visited the Bhubaneswar Operations Centre inside the office of Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) to have a hands-on experience on the technological interventions done by BSCL for the Temple City.

The team, which has come to Odisha on a two-day visit to have first-hand knowledge on the progress of the various projects of Bhubaneswar Smart City, will advise the authorities of the Port Blair Smart City so that their project would also progress in a faster and smoother manner.

Regarding their exposure visit the Chairperson of PBMC said “we reached Bhubaneswar Smart City and were delighted to see the progress of various projects under BSCL and the other convergence projects like sewerage treatment plant, Smart Janpath, Smart Traffic Signalling System, Bhubaneswar Operations Centre.’’

“The underground cabling work across the city, social equity centre, multi-level car parking, integrated public service centre and Socially Smart Bhubaneswar Project were the interesting ones we came across and we will definitely tell our officials, planners and engineers of Port Blair Smart City on these things we have seen in Bhubaneswar,’’ she added.

A senior member of the councillor’s team K. Ganeshan, a councillor of Port Blair Municipal Council since 1982, said “we are really happy to see the tremendous progress in the Smart City work here and we hope that our counterparts must emulate from BSCL’s progress.’’

After Bhubaneswar, the team from Port Blair will go to Siliguri, Bhopal and Vellore to see the progress of the respective Smart Cities and learn lessons from them as well.
