Cuttack: The Chauliaganj Police of Cuttack has arrested a businessman for selling synthetic paneer to customers on Thursday.
The arrested businessman is Sukdeb Sahu and is charged under section 272,273,420 and 34 of Indian Penal Code. The businessman has also been charged with section 51, 52, 53 and 59 under Food Safety And Standards Act.
The police had seized around 1 quintal of synthetic paneer near OMP Chhak in Cuttack on Wednesday.
The seized adulterated paneer was prepared using urea, sulphuric acid, flour, glycerine, detergent powder, wastage milk, and palmolein oil. This seized paneer is highly dangerous to health, revealed the investigation.
