Bomb hurled in Cuttack last night; 2 injured

BadambadiCuttack: Two women were injured and an auto-rickshaw got completely damaged as miscreants hurled bombs in front of a puja pandal near Badambadi Police Station here yesterday night. The incident occurred while Durga Puja revelry was in full swing in the Millennium City.

The injured have been identified as Anita and Sumitra of Pipili area of Puri district.

An auto-rickshaw carrying Anita and Sumitra along with family members was heading towards Badambadi square from Link Road hiring an auto-rickshaw when the incident took place. A group of bike borne miscreants hurled country made bombs at a puja pandal located just a few metres away from the Badambadi Police Station and fled.

However, the bombs mistakenly fell on the auto-rickshaw and exploded, leaving the duo injured. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Badambadi Police have launched a manhunt to nab the miscreants and raided a number of locations in the city since last night.
