Cuttack: In a morning mishap, a man was killed after his bike was mowed down by a car on Cuttack-Chandbali road near Nischintakoili petrol pump in Cuttack district today.
The deceased has been identified as Mohan Charan Nayak (55) of Gotara Kanhapur village under Mahanga block.
Nayak was en-route to a nearby location in some work this morning by riding his Hero Passion bike when a speeding Maruti Suzuki Dzire car (Registration Number-OD 02 AW 4044) which was heading in the same direction hit him from behind near Nischintakoili petrol pump.
Nayak sustained a critical head injury in the crash and was rushed to Nischintakoili Hospital in an ambulance, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have seized the car involved in the accident and lodged a case of unnatural death in connection with it.
