The Odisha police has urged people to beware of cyber fraud through its official twitter handle on Wednesday.
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha police has urged people to beware of cyber fraud through its official twitter handle on Wednesday.
In the tweet, the Odisha Police has further explained to people that some cyber fraudsters have been seen extorting lakhs of rupees from people by luring them with foreign currency.
It has further requested people not to succumb to such temptation and not to surrender their hard-earned wealth in the hands of cyber fraudsters.
Recently on April 2, 2023 a report revealed that cyber fraudsters have allegedly looted more than Rs 2 crore from several people in Bhubaneswar in March 2023.
According to reliable reports, the cyber fraudsters have looted people off as much as Rs. 1.55 crore on pretext of online trading and investment.
It is worth mentioning that as much as Rs 65 lakh has been looted online on the pretext of KYC update and through OTP link frauds.
