Balasore: In a shocking incident, a drunk pharmacist was beaten up by some angry public for allegedly assaulting a youth in Odisha’s Balasore district on Tuesday. The pharmacist has been identified as Sibasis Tudu of Idaba health centre.

According to reports, one Prasanta Ghorai of Dandi village had gone to the Idaba health centre to take the COVID vaccine. However, pharmacist Sibasis Tudu, who was in an inebriated condition, allegedly scolded Ghorai without any reason and threw the liquor bottle at him for protesting his misbehaviour, said sources.

The Pharmacist also allegedly attacked everyone who came on his way, added the sources.

Later, some locals caught hold of him and tied him with a rope and reportedly beat him up.

A team of cops from Singla Police station rushed to the spot after getting information about the incident and rescued the drunk pharmacist.

This is not the first time that Sibasis Tudu had attacked people in an inebriated state. Earlier some months ago too he had attacked some people with a sword by chasing them.

Meanwhile, the villagers demanded the dismissal of Sibasis Tudu from his job.
