Koraput: An Assistant Agriculture Officer (AAO) was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the agriculture office in Pattangi in Odisha’s Koraput district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Gourahari Behera, a resident of Mayurbhanj district in the state. He was posted as AAO in Kotia area in Koraput. However, he was staying at Pattangi based office.
According to reports, Behera and other colleagues had a feast in the office premises last night. After the feast, he stayed in the office room while others went to their respective house.
Behera’s family members tried to contact him over phone this morning. However, their repeated phone calls remained unanswered.
Following which, Behera’s family members called one of his colleagues to enquire about him. Later, the colleagues of Behera reached the office and found him unconscious with foam oozing from his mouth. He was immediately rushed to the Pattangi hospital where doctor declared him ‘brought dead’.
On being informed, the Pattangi police reached the spot and started investigation.
