All religious places to remain closed in Ganjam from today till February 1

Berhampur: All religious places including temples, mosques, churches and gurudwaras, will be remained closed in Odisha’s Ganjam district from today. All the temples and other religious places will continue to remain shut until February 1.

The district administration took the decision as the number of Covid infections in the district was on the rise in the last few days. The district collector has advised people to stay alert and to follow all covid rules and regulations during this period.

During the first wave of Covid, all the religious places including temples, mosques, churches and gurudwaras in the district were closed for a long time.

The district administration has said that the decision was taken because of the rising covid cases. All the rituals will be done in the absence of devotees and devotees in religious places.
