Actor Mihir Das dead: Governor Ganeshi Lal, CM Naveen Patnaik lead Odisha to express grief about legendary actor’s loss

Bhubaneswar: Condolences from all walks of life have poured in for versatile Ollywood actor Mihir Das, who breathed his last earlier today while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack.

Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik led Odisha to express grief about the legendary actor’s loss.

“Saddened by the passing away of veteran Odia actor Shri Mihir Das – one of the most talented actors from Odisha. He was a good man with a good soul. Praying for his departed soul to rest in peace. Condolences to family, friends and legion of fans,” said Kandhamal MP and founder of KIIT & KISS, Dr. Achyuta Samanta.

Noted Odia film director and Managing Director of Kalinga TV, Himansu Khatua also expressed his condolences over the death of the veteran actor. “It is a huge loss for the entire Odia film industry. He was such a brilliant actor that no one can fill the void left by his death,” he said.

Likewise, Union Health Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said. “Pained by the untimely demise of legendary Odia film actor Shri #MihirDas. A fine human being and a household name in Odisha, his performances won million hearts. An elder brother to me, Shri Mihir’s passing away is a personal loss. Condolences to his family and admirers.”

“Just heard the sad news about the demise of legendary Odia actor, Shri #MihirDas. It’s a huge setback for Odisha film industry. He was a versatile actor with a huge fan following across generations. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans,” said Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president, Niranjan Patnaik.
