Keonjhar: The Police has arrested 8 persons in connection with the attack on Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) Chief Niranjan Patnaik’s convoy at Bhandaripoda Chakk under Ghasipura Assembly constituency in Keonjhar on Sunday.
The OPCC Chief, who is contesting the elections from the Ghasipura seat sustained injuries in the attack. Five party workers were also injured. Three of them have been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.
Patnaik had filed a complaint at Ramchandrapur Police Station over the incident.
Meanwhile, BJD candidate from Ghasipura Assembly Constituency Badri Narayan Patra has also written to the CEO demanding stringent action against the culprits.
