Koraput: In a heart-wrenching incident, four minors including three girls and one boy died after drowning in a rainwater-filled pit that was dug up for road construction work in Odisha’s Koraput today. The incident has taken place at Majhiguda village under Sadar Police Station limits.
Additional SP Utakal Keshari Das informed that the minor children drowned while they were playing in the pit which was filled with rain following heavy rain in the area.
The bodies were recovered by the villagers and now have been sent to the hospital for postmortem.
A pall of gloom descended on the village following the unfortunate death of the minor children.
