Balasore: At least three members of a family sustained critical injuries after a car carrying them hit a road protection wall on National Highway-60 near Nidhipanda area under Balasore district today.
The deceased persons have been identified as Paresh Pradhan, his mother and son of Rupsa area.
As per the report, Paresh’s mother-in-law had died under treatment at a hospital in Bhubaneswar last night following a sickness and the family was bringing her body to Rupsa in a van for cremation when the mishap occurred.
Paresh’s car which was following the hearse van skidded off the road to hit the protection wall of the highway in the wee hours and got badly mangled.
The injured persons were rushed to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in a 108 ambulance with the help of some bystanders post the mishap and their condition remains serious.
