Nayagarh: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha police seized 260 grams of brown sugar and arrested a drug peddler in Odisha’s Nayagarh district yesterday.
On the basis of reliable information, a team of STF reportedly detected a case of illegal trade of Narcotics drugs on Ranapur-Sunakhela road under Ranapur police limits of Nayagarh district as a result of which one accused person namely Prakash Chandra Behera of Baunsia was apprehended.
Brown sugar weighing 260 grams was seized from Behera’s possession.
A case under Section 21 (C) of NDPS Act 1985 has been registered against him at Ranapur Police station for necessary legal action.
During the last month, the STF has conducted raids at various places against drug peddling and detected five cases. As many as four accused persons have been arrested while a total of 2 kg and 812 grams of brown sugar and 2000 kgs of ganja and other incriminating materials were seized from their possession.
