10.5 kg ganja seized in Jagatsinghpur, peddler held

Jagatsinghpur: Launching a crackdown on illegal drug trade, Excise Department officials to day seized 10.5 kg of ganja from Bhuasuni village under Balikuda police limits in Jagatsinghpur district today and arrested one peddler.

The held person has been identified as Rabi Naryan Behera of the same locality.

Getting a tip-off on the ganja trade which was running clandestinely in Bhubasuni village, the Jagatsinghpur unit of the Excise Department raided the place this morning. During the raid the accused who found possessing a packet containing the banned drug was taken into custody.

The held peddler was interrogated to examine whether any bigger racket is involved in the incident or not before being forwarded to court, said Jagatsinghpur Excise Inspector Pratap Kumar Das.
