Apart from the glory of lifting the coveted trophy, a substantial prize money awaits the winners and runners-up, as revealed by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
In a pre-tournament release, the ICC disclosed that the winners of the Cricket World Cup 2023 would be rewarded with a staggering USD 4 million (INR 33,31,67,000 approx.), emphasizing the magnitude of the achievement. Meanwhile, the runners-up will not leave empty-handed, securing a significant sum of USD 2 million (INR 16,65,83,500 approx.) for their impressive campaign.
The total prize money pool for the tournament stands at USD 10 million, with a comprehensive breakdown highlighting the financial rewards for teams at various stages:
- Winners: USD 4,000,000 | Total: USD 4,000,000
- Runners-up: USD 2,000,000 | Total: USD 2,000,000
- Losing Semi-Finalists: USD 800,000 each | Total: USD 1,600,000
- Teams eliminated after group stage (6): USD 100,000 each | Total: USD 600,000
