World Cup 2019: Vijay Shankar gets trolled as India marches on
New Delhi: India’s new No. 4 Vijay Shankar was heavily trolled for his continual dismal performance. While India won its fifth consecutive match in the World Cup, Shankar’s inclusion in the team has become questionable.
He managed to score just 14 runs off 19 balls before falling to Kemar Roach in Manchester on Thursday. The dismissal continued Shankar’s string of low scores with the bat in this World Cup (with the highest score of just 29 vs Afghanistan).
With his continual unimpressive performances, the demand for Rishabh Pant in the team has also increased.

India already has a good variety in its bowling department with six bowlers in its kitty. What the team needs is a batsman who can give a good backbone to the opening partnership.
India will meet England on Sunday, which is very much a do-or-die match for the hosts. India’s need of a solid No. 4 was highlighted even after a comfortable win against the Caribbean. And England would not let the match slip through their hands. India has to be at its best for the next encounter in the cricketing extravaganza.
Meanwhile, the Twitterati had a field day in trolling Vijay Shankar.
India got out of jail today, but the middle order with Vijay Shankar, Dhoni & Jadhav at 4,5,6 looks one specialist batsman short. Esp given the tail of 4 with Bhuvi out. Too dependent on top 3.

Vijay Shankar scores 14 runs on 19 balls and out to prove that he is the worst player of Indian team. And his selection is the biggest mistake of selectors.#INDvsWI

A weak Number 4 further weakens the middle order. Always had reservations about Vijay Shankar #IndvsWI
