Team India’s Head Coach Rahul Dravid has confirmed that Virat Kohli will miss the first match of T20I series against Afghanistan in Mohali.

Team India’s Head Coach Rahul Dravid has confirmed that Virat Kohli will miss the first match of the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan in Mohali. The star cricketer will miss the match due to some personal reasons. The T20 International series between India and Afghanistan will begin from January 11.

During the pre-match press conference Rahul Dravid said that Virat Kohli will join the squad for the 2nd and 3rd T20Is which will be held in Indore and Bengaluru on January 14 and 17, respectively.

Meanwhile, cricketers Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan have been dropped out of the India 16-player squad for the series against Afghanistan. At the same time, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan has been ruled out of the three-match T20 Internationals series against India.

Star Indian players, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are back into the side after not taking part in any international T20 matches since the T20 World Cup 2019. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav will not play the series due to injury.
