In latest news, Indian cricketer Shubman Gill has been appointed as the captain of Gujarat Titans after Hardik Pandya’s exit from the Franchise. Gujarat Titans recently confirmed Hardik Pandya’s departure to Mumbai Indians on trade.
Earlier this year, Shubman Gill won the Orange Cap in IPL 2023. Gill will take over from Pandya, who led GT for two seasons. Pandya led Gujarat Titans to IPL title in 2022 and a runner-up finish in 2023.
Vikram Solanki, the Director of Cricket for Gujarat Titans, mentioned that Shubman Gill has demonstrated significant growth over the past two years at the highest level of the game. Solanki noted that they observed Gill maturing not only as a batsman but also as a leader in cricket.
He further acknowledged Gill’s valuable contribution on the field, which played a crucial role in Gujarat Titans becoming a formidable force, leading the team through a successful game in 2022 and 2023.
Solanki expressed excitement about starting a new journey with a young leader like Shubman Gill, highlighting his maturity and skills evident in on-field performances.

In yet another post, Gujarat Titans page posted a picture of Shubman Gill along with a message ‘Shub Shuruat,’ indicating Gill’s first-time captaincy. Therein they wrote, “CAPTAIN GILL reporting!
