A viral picture of Australian cricketer Mitchell Marsh is making rounds on social media. Australian captain Pat Cummins first shared the picture on his Instagram story, and now it is everywhere on the internet. The picture came soon after Australia won the World Cup 2023 against India on November 19.

The picture is seemingly from their hotel where the team was staying. In the picture, Mitchell Marsh can be seen sitting with both his feet up on the World Cup trophy, flaunting his gold medal. But not everyone’s a fan.

People on the internet have called it ‘disrespectful’ and have been trolling him for it. Originally shared on Pat Cummin’s Instagram, Story, the picture was also shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a handle ‘@mufaddal_vohra.’

The picture spread like wildfire, with netizens saying the he should show more respect to the trophy.

On November 19, Australia won its sixth World Cup trophy after defeating India by six wickets. Chasing 241 run target given by India in final match of ICC World Cup 2023 being played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the team made 241 runs by losing 4 wickets while 42 balls were left.
