IPL 2017: Mumbai Indians beat Gujarat Lions in Super Over

In one of the most exciting battles of IPL 2017, Mumbai Indians prevailed over Gujarat Lions in Super Over to register their 7th victory and join KKR at the top of the points table with 14 points.

Earlier, Gujarat Lions had posted 153/9 in 20 overs. Ishan Kishan was the top scorer with 48. Krunal Pandya took 3 wickets, while Malinga and Bumrah took two wickets each.

Mumbai Indians were cruising towards an easy win at one point of time, but Gujarat Lions bounced back to bowl them out for exactly 153 in 20 overs. Parthiv Patel scored 70. Basil Thampi took 3 wickets, while Faulkner took two wickets.

As the match tied, it went to Super Over. Mumbai Indians managed to score 11, setting a victory target of 12 for Lions. But, Jasprit Bumrah turned out to be the hero, as he conceded just 6 runs and Mumbai won the match by 5 runs. Krunal Pandya was adjudged ‘Man of the Match’.
