On the cricket front, Saini played in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) for Delhi but faced disappointment as his team got eliminated in the semi-finals, with Saini not making a significant impact. Throughout the tournament, he secured only four wickets in seven games.
Despite challenges, Saini contributed to the Rest of India (ROI) team’s triumph in the Irani Cup in October. His performance in the IPL has been a bit inconsistent, featuring in only six games over the past three years. In the 2023 season of IPL, he secured three wickets across two matches.
In a noteworthy mention, Saini’s Test cricket appearance for India in the 2021 Australian tour left a lasting mark. In the final test at Brisbane, Saini was brought in due to other players’ injuries. He claimed four wickets in the drawn third Test at the SCG. Although he had minimal impact in the decisive Brisbane Test, he was a part of the team that achieved a historic victory, chasing an unlikely 328 in the final innings.
