After winning the toss, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma decided to bat first. With Virat Kohli’s record 117 runs and Shreyas Iyer’s 105 runs in 70 balls India set a victory target of 398 runs for the New Zealand.

In the second innings, Mohammed Shami picked up 7 wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav took one each wicket to restrict New Zealand for 327-10 (48.5 Ov).

For New Zealand, Daryl Mitchell (134 off 119 balls) was the top scorer flowed by skipper Kane Williamson and Glenn Phillips, who scored 69 and 41 runs respectively.

Mohammed Shami was adjudged the player of the match for his record spell of 7 wickets in 9.5 overs. He conceded 57 runs.

With today’s win, India registered 1oth consecutive win in this world cup.
