Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar made a surprise visit to Afghanistan’s training camp at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. The visit was in preparation for Afghanistan’s crucial ODI World Cup 2023 match against Australia scheduled today.
Sachin Tendulkar is a global ambassador for the ODI World Cup 2023. He received a special request from the Afghanistan players to meet with them. Tendulkar, who hails from Mumbai, graciously accepted their request and spent quality time discussing cricket with them.
During their meeting, Tendulkar shared his experiences and offered valuable tips to the Afghan players. In a gesture of appreciation, the entire Afghanistan team even presented Sachin Tendulkar with a small token of gratitude.

Afghanistan’s captain, Hashmatullah Shahidi, expressed his excitement about meeting Tendulkar, calling him a cricket legend and a role model for many Afghan players. He looked forward to learning from Tendulkar’s words of wisdom. Following their discussion, Tendulkar also posed for pictures with the Afghanistan players.

For the unversed, apart from the Afghanistan team, Sachin Tendulkar also visited his old friend Ajay Jadeja, who is currently serving as a mentor for the Afghan team in the ODI World Cup 2023.
With the ninth rank on the points table in the ongoing World Cup 2023, Afghanistan has been the centre of attention in this year’s tournament. They are set to clash with Australia today, in the 39th match of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.
