4th straight win for Indian Women at WWC 2017

Indian-Women-World-CupDerby: The Indian Women continue their winning streak at the Women’s World Cup by registering 4th straight win in the tournament. They overcame the strong challenge from Sri Lanka yesterday. Earlier, they had defeated England, West Indies and Pakistan.

The Indian Women posted 232/8 in 50 overs. Deepti Sharma (78) and Mithali Raj (53) were the top scorers. Sripali Weerakkody took 3 wickets, while Inoka Ranaweera took 2 wickets.

Chasing a victory target of 233, Sri Lanka managed to score 216/7 and lost the match by 16 runs. Dilani Manodara hit 61, while Shashikala Siriwardene made 39. For India, Jhulan Goswami and Poonam Yadav took two wickets each.

Deepti Sharma was declared ‘Player of the Match’.
