Odisha teacher recruitment 2023: OSEPA releases notification for 20,000 junior teachers, Check details

As many as 20,000 Junior Teacher (Schematic) will be recruited in Odisha. The online application process will begin on September 13, 2023.

The Odisha School and Mass Education Department (OSEPA) has published an advertisement inviting online applications from candidates for recruitment to fill up as many as 20,000 Junior Teacher (Schematic) posts. As per the official notification, the candidates can apply for the Odisha teacher recruitment 2023 through online mode. The online application process will begin from  September 13, 2023 and the last date for the application submission is October 10, 2023.

A Junior Teacher (Schematic) becomes eligible to be a Junior Teacher after three years of continuous and satisfactory service. Their six years of engagement as mentioned above will be co-terminus with that of Samagra Sikshya scheme till their absorption in the regular Elementary cadre.

Vacancy Details

As per the notification, as many as 20,000 Junior Teacher (schematic) posts will be filled up in the Primary and Upper Primary Schools under different Revenue Districts of the state. The details on district-wise & category-wise vacancies will be posted on OSEPA website i.e. osepa.odisha.gov.in.

Selection Process

The candidates will be selected via an online computer-based test (CBT) for the post of Junior Teacher (Schematic). The syllabus of the CBT examination is available on the OSEPA website.

Age Limit

The candidate should not be below 18 years of age and above 38 years of age as on the date of the advertisement.

Earlier in August, the Odisha School and Mass Education Department made the announcement for the junior teacher recruitment.

“Engagement of all Junior Teachers (Schematic) will be made by respective Zilla Parishads under each category i.e. for Classes I to V and Classes VI to VIII under the programme of Samagra Sikshya (SS) for implementation of the said Act for elementary education,” read the notification.

“As prescribed in the Odisha Elementary Education (Method of Recruitment and conditions of Service of Teachers and Officers) Amendment Rules, 2014, Elementary Teachers are appointed in the State through absorption of Junior Teachers after three years of continuous and satisfactory service considered through a committee at the district level. A Junior Teacher (Schematic) becomes eligible to be a Junior Teacher after three years of continuous and satisfactory service. Their six years of engagement as mentioned above will be co-terminus with that of Samagra Sikshya scheme till their absorption in the regular Elementary cadre,” it added.
