Chandabali: A woman has been sitting on strike for more than 15 hours demanding for a new scooter in Manikpur railway station of Ghanteswar village in Bhadrak district.
The woman, identified as Kunmun Baral, an employee of a finance company. She went to Manikpur to collect an installment money from a customer.
She had parked her scooty in railway station parking area when a Hyva truck suddenly ran over her vehicle and it was completely dismantled.
At the time of the incident, Kunmun was not on the vehicle. When Kunmun found her scooty completely destroyed, she demanded a new scooty from the Hyva truck owner.
The scooter is not in the condition to get repaired. Even if the vehicle does get repaired, it is likely to show defect in future, said Kunmun.
After the incident truck driver has been absconding.
On being informed, the police reached the spot and no solution has still been found, Kunmun has submitted a written complaint on Saturday morning.
The investigation is underway and police has been trying to find a solution between the two parties.
