Google Doodle Urges People To Wear Masks, Save Lives

As the world grapples with the second wave of COVID-19, Google Doodle on Tuesday raised awareness for people to wear masks and save lives. “Wear a mask. Sanitize your hands. Keep a safe distance. Save lives,” read Google’s message.

Through an animated doodle, the ‘GOOGLE’ alphabets are covered with a mask. The ‘L’ letter symbolises a vaccine syringe. It conveys the message to people “wear a face cover, wash your hands and keep a safe distance” to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Earlier, Google Doodle had honoured healthcare workers and sanitation workers.

Meanwhile, the WHO released a statement that said, “Masks can help prevent the spread of the virus from the person wearing the mask to others. Masks alone do not protect against COVID-19 and should be combined with physical distancing and hand hygiene.”

Worth mentioning, global COVID-19 caseload has topped 131.6 million, and deaths have climbed to more than 2.85 million, according to John Hopkins University. Meanwhile, India is also gripped by the second wave of coronavirus and for the first time registered more than 1 lakh cases in a single day on Monday. India on Tuesday registered 96,982 fresh coronavirus cases.
