Rocco, an African grey parrot ordered tonnes of goods online on Amazon while his owner was away. Rocco used his owner’s Amazon Alexa device to order a range of his favorite snacks including watermelons, raisins, broccoli and ice cream, along with a light bulb and a kite, reported BBC.
African Grey Parrots are known to mimic human speech. They are highly intelligent birds and are notorious for mimicking noises.
Rocco’s owner Marion Wischnewski told the Daily Mail that she was shocked when she saw what he had done. “I have to check the shopping list when I come in from work and cancel all the items he’s ordered,” she said.
Wischnewski added that this is not the first time Rocco has done something like this. He had to be removed from the National Animal Welfare Trust sanctuary in Berkshire because of using foul language.
Wischnewski decided to give Rocco a home. She said that she personally finds him very sweet. She also said that he has romantic music playing for her when she reaches home.
