Anandpur: A woman sustained critical injuries after setting herself ablaze over a family feud in Jambhara village under Anandpur Sub-Division in Keonjhar district on Friday.
The victim has been identified as Manasi Rout, wife of Rabindra Mallick of the same village.
Manasi and Rabindra had a disturbed relationship ever since their marriage post a love affair a few months back. The quarrel over petty issues remained a regular affair between the couple and the same took an ugly turn this morning after Manasi lost cool and set her to fire after sprinkling kerosene all over her body.
While the in-laws of the victim rushed her to Anandpur Sub-Divisional hospital for treatment with grievous burn wounds, she was shifted to SCB Medical in Cuttack later for better treatment.
No case has been lodged by the family of the victim in connection with the incident.
