Bhadrak: A woman committed suicide due to an extramarital affair following which her family members tied her boyfriend to a pole and beat him mercilessly. The incident took place in Artung village in Basudebpur area of Bhadrak district.
One Kahnu Charan of the village works in Bengaluru while his wife Rashmita and son live at home. Rashmita had an affair with Bhagwat Parida of Jireigadi village. It was opposed by her family members.
Bhagwat came to Rashmita’s house late last night to meet her. However, the family members caught the duo red-handed. They tied Bhagwat to the pole and beat him mercilessly.
In the meantime, Rashmita committed suicide by hanging herself after seeing her boyfriend’s condition. On the other hand, the family and villagers blamed Bhagwat for Rashmita’s death.
After getting information about the incident, Basudebpur police reached the spot and sent the body for autopsy. Bhagwat has been detained and is being questioned by the cops.
