Uttarkashi tunnel collapse: Stranded Odia labourers’ family members to go to meet them

The family members of the Odia labourers who are stranded in Uttarkashi tunnel collapse will go to meet them, informed sources.

Bhubaneswar: The family members of the Odia labourers who are stranded in Uttarkashi tunnel collapse will go to meet them, informed sources.

According to sources, the family members of three stranded labourers have already reached Bhubaneswar today and they will take the flight to Uttarakhand at 9.45 AM tomorrow. Two labour officers are also accompanying them.

The Odisha government has made all arrangements for their smooth visit. Family members of other two workers have reached the spot earlier.

Even two labour officers are at the spot of the incident. They spoke with the Odia workers and encourage them to have patience and all efforts are being done to rescue them safely. They have already said to have met the Uttarakhand district collector and Superintendent of Police (SP) and apprised them about the visit of the family members of the Odia workers.

It is to be noted here that five workers from Odisha namely Tapan Mandal, Bhagban Batra from Nabarangpur, Biseswar Nayak of Mayurbhanj, Dhiren from Kuladiha, and Raju Nayak from Mayurbhanj are trapped along with 36 labourers after the Silkyara tunnel collapsed on November 12.
