Temperature likely to fall in Odisha as rain to continue for next 4 days: IMD

Bhubaneswar: After gripping with summer-like weather during the spring season, Odisha is now experiencing rainfall for last few days. This rainfall is likely to continue for next four days giving a relief from heat to the citizens. Meanwhile, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that maximum temperature or day temperature will gradually fall by three to five degrees at many places over various district of Odisha in next four days.

The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar has also informed that no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during next four days and thereafter gradual fall will be seen by two to three degrees at many places over the districts of Odisha.

As per weather department reports, thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur today at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jaipur and Cuttack.

Meanwhile, on the next day, March 18, thunderstorm with lightning is likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak.

Keeping the weather in mind, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) of Odisha has put some district collectors of Odisha on alert over the rain predictions of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The collectors of the Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi districts have been put on alerts as the weather department has forecasted rain for these districts for the next four days.
