Rainfall to lash 8 districts of Odisha today, heat to intensify in state from April 15

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has witnessed a relief from heat over the past few days, due to the influence of Kalbaisakhi. On Thursday morning, many parts of the state experienced cloudy weather along with slight rainfall.

It is noteworthy mentioning that slight to moderate rainfall is likely to be witnessed in some parts of Odisha till April 14. Rainfall is likely today in Malkangiri, Gajapati, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Nuapada districts of Odisha. Heat in Odisha is likely to intensify from April 15 onwards. The day time temperature will rise in state by three to four degree Celsius.

The Regional meteorological department has predicted that the maximum temperature will rise beyond 40 degree Celsius in parts of interior and Western Odisha. Meanwhile, daily temperature in Odisha is expected to touch 42-44 degree Celsius by April 18. IMD further predicted that there will not be large change in Maximum temperature (Day Temperature) during the next 3 days.

On Wednesday, the maximum temperature in most parts of Odisha was recorded at 37 degree Celsius. The highest maximum temperature was recorded in Paralakhemundi at 39.3 degree Celsius. Maximum day time temperature in other cities of Odisha were recorded as follows: 37.5 degree Celsius in Titlagarh, 37.1 degree Celsius in Malkangiri, and 37 degree Celsius in Paradip.
