Polythene in cows stomach weighing 50kgs extracted in Odisha

Till now as much as 50 kgs of polythene has been extracted from the cow's abdomen and further operation is underway in Berhampur of Odisha.

Berhampur: Since the last two days, a cow was found lying and not being able to walk in Bijipur street of Berhampur in Odisha, said reliable reports.

The local people got the news of the helpless cow and admitted it to the veterinary hospital using an ambulance.

Due to the bloated belly of the cow, it was assumed that she was pregnant. After treatment for around two days, the doctors started operation on it this morning.

The doctors later found out that the cow was not pregnant, but the cow had a bloated stomach after swallowing a massive quantity of polythene.

Till now as much as 50 kgs of polythene has been extracted from the cow’s abdomen and further operation is underway.

Reports say that as many as eight doctors are involved in the operation in a the team lead by Dr. Satya Narayan Kar of the Veterinary Department.

This incident is a pointer and eyeopener towards the careless waste disposal that we are involved in these days. Disposing food in polythene not only causes environmental damage but it also leads to death of cattle grazing in various urban areas.
