Odisha’s first rural space lab inaugurated at Kantabanji, will help school children to know about space

The first rural space lab of Odisha was inaugurated at Muskan International School at Kantabanji in Balangiri district.

Balangir: With the aim to help the school children to know about space, space crafts and how things are handled from earth, a rural space lab was inaugurated at Kantabanji of Balagir district of Odisha.

The first rural space lab of Odisha was inaugurated at Muskan International School at Kantabanji in the presence of former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist T.N Suresh Kumar, Planning and Convergence Minister of Odisha Rajendra Dholakia, Balangir MP Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo, Kantabanji MLA Santosh Singh Saluja, former Kantabanji MLA Ayub Khan, Kantabanji NAC Chairman, Belpada Block Chairman, among others who witnessed the inauguration of the first rural space lab yesterday.

Through this first rural space lab, the students can earn different things of science including who was the first astronaut to reach the space, who, when and how went to the Mars. They will also be able to learn how India’s Chandrayaan-3 landed on the Moon and how things are made in ISRO.

The authorities of the school informed that the rural space lab though was inaugurated at the institution, but it will be managed by the scientists of ISRO.

While speaking on the occasion, the former ISRO scientist said that such initiatives will help the locality and the people to be known by others and it will also inspire the students to become scientists.

People of all walks of life of the locality and the district also lauded the authorities of the Kantabanji-based Muskan International School for setting up the first rural space lab of Odisha.
