Odisha Vigilance Arrests Senior Clerk For Accepting Bribe In Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Odisha Vigilance arrested senior clerk Akhaya Kumar Nayak, working at the Sub-Collector’s office in Malkangiri while accepting a bribe of Rs 80,000 yesterday.

According to reports, Akshaya was demanding money from one Jeevan Mandal of MV-82 village in Malkangiri for processing a file to drop a proceeding on the plot where Sec 144 was imposed. He had taken Rs 20,000 on June 25.

A team of Malkangiri and Jeypore Vigilance sleuths laid a trap following a complaint filed by Jeevan Mandal and caught red-handed Akshaya after seizing Rs 80,000 while he was taking  the bribe yesterday.

“Senior clerk Akshaya Kumar Nayak working at Sub-Collector’s office in Malkangiri was taking a bribe from Jeevan Mandal of MV-82 village for processing to drop Sec-144 imposed on the plot was caught red-handed,” said Sushant Kumar Biswal, DSP, Malkangiri.
