Sundergarh: The Sundergarh Police rescued a minor girl hailing from Lephripara, who was allegedly sold in Uttar Pradesh for Rs 60,000. The Police has also arrested three middlemen, including a married couple, in connection with the matter.
Sundargarh SP Saumya Mishra informed that one Panchami Kamar, a relative of the girl, along with the arrested couple Choudhury Pushpendra Singh & Bimala Choudhury had taken the minor girl to Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh on the promise of providing her employment. However, they later sold the girl to an older man for Rs. 60,000 who forcefully married her.
The girl was rescued after a missing report was filed by her family members. Meanwhile, the arrestees have been forwarded to court.
