Bhubaneswar: Man attacked in Bhubaneswar for protesting against passing of lewd remarks on Monday, said reliable reports.

The incident allegedly took place late at night under the Laxmisagar police station limits in Bomikhal area, said reliable reports.

It is worth mentioning that as many as eight armed miscreants attacked the victim identified as Rakesh Kumar Barik while he was just about to close his saloon. He was attacked with swords, sharp weapons and iron rods.

The victim immediately lodged a complain in this regard with the Laxmisagar police station. The police started an investigation in this regard and has arrested one person.

Furthermore according to reliable reports, a man identified as Rameswar Behera was involved in a bike and cycle accident in the area.

After the accident, the bike rider Rameswar Behera verbally abused the cyclist to which Rakesh Kumar Barik protested.

Later, Rameswar Behera along with seven of his associates attacked Rakesh while he was just about to close his shop in the late hours of Sunday night.

Reports further said that, there were deep injuries in the face, hand and stomach of Rakesh. He was initially admitted to Capital Hospital but later as his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
