Baripada: A HIV infected man allegedly committed suicide after setting himself on fire at Sunaposi village under Tiring police limits in Mayurbhanj district today.
The deceased identified as Rabindra Tamudia was tested HIV positive three years ago. Locals said that they rushed to the house of the deceased after hearing his screams.
“By the time we reached his house, he was on fire. We immediately rushed him to the Sub Divisional Hospital in Rairangpur. He succumbed to burn injuries while undergoing treatment,” said a local.
Villagers said that Rabindra was staying alone after the death of his parents and brother years ago.
