A newly married woman was found hanging at her husband's residence in Jagannathprasad village under Bhandaripokhari police limits of Bhadrak
Bhadrak: A newly married woman was found hanging at her husband’s residence in Jagannathprasad village under Bhandaripokhari police limits of Bhadrak district last evening.
The deceased woman, identified as Shaktimayi Barik, a resident of Panasa village of Jajpur district.
According to family, the couple Shaktimayi and Biswajit got married five months ago. The woman was frequently mentally and physically tortured by her in-laws for dowry. Last evening her in-laws found her hanging and immediately informed police and family members.
Later, the Bhandaripokhari police reached the spot and recovered the body and started an investigation into the matter. The cops have detained Biswajit and his father for more interrogation.
