Naib Sarpanch election to be held tomorrow, voting for Zilla Parishad Presidents on Mar 13

Bhubaneswar: Elections for the post of Naib Sarpanchs in all gram panchayats across the State will be held tomorrow and the election for the posts of Chairman of all Panchayat Samitis will be conducted on March 12 and for the posts of Vice-Chairman will be held on March 23.

According to the State Election Commission (SEC), nomination papers will be provided to the Naib Sarpanch candidates between 10 AM and 11 AM.

The scrutiny of their nomination papers will be done from 11 AM to 11.30 AM and those who want to withdraw their nominations can do so before 12 PM. Following this, voting for the post of Naib Sarpanch will be held between 12 PM and 1 PM.

As per the direction of the SEC to the district Collectors, the counting of votes will be done soon after the voting following which the results will be declared.

Likewise, election for the posts of Chairman of all Panchayat Samitis and for the posts of Vice-Chairman will be held on March 12 and on March 23 respectively.

Similarly, indirect election for the posts of Zilla Parishad President will be conducted on March 13, and voting for the posts of Zilla Parishad Vice-President will be held on March 25.

The nomination papers will be given to the candidates from 10.30 AM to 11.30 AM (on the respective dates as mentioned above) and the scrutiny will be done between 11.30 AM and 12.30 PM.

Later, candidates who want to withdraw their candidature can do so by before 1 PM ahead of the voting which will be held from 1.30 PM to 4 PM. Thereafter, counting of votes will be done and results will also be announced in the same evening.
