M Venkaiah Naidu elected Vice President of India

Venkaiah NaiduNew Delhi: Seasoned politician M Venkaiah Naidu has been elected as the Vice President of India by registering a comprehensive win over his rival Gopal Krishna Gandhi.

Out of 771 votes polled, 11 were declared invalid. Naidu secured 516 votes out of 760 valid votes, while Gopal Krishna Gandhi got 244 votes.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and many others congratulated Naidu on his election as the Vice President of India.
