In a tragic incident, a man was trampled to death by a wild tusker near Chaulia under Dhenkanal Sadar Range on Sunday.
Dhenkanal: In a tragic incident, a man was trampled to death by a elephant near Chaulia under Dhenkanal Sadar Range on Sunday.
The deceased, identified as Brahmananda Nayak, a native of Chaulia village in Dhenkanal district.
According to sources, Brahmananda had gone to his field for some work, where the wild tusker attacked him and trampled him to death.
On being informed about the incident, the forest personnel reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, the locals have alleged that the wild tusker is roaming around the village for quite some time and they are spending sleepless nights as they have been straying into the village.
